Chatbot with authorization

Chatbots can function as a public source of information about a company, or, for example, as a lead generation channel. But, chatbots can also be used as closed means of communication for employees or customers of the company. In this case, the chatbot must provide for the process of authorizing users to access the use of the bot.

Let's consider an example of creating a chatbot with authorization on the Gerabot service. The principle of authorization will be as follows:

• a user record with the specified phone number is created in the system;
• the first step in the bot will be to ask the user for his phone number;
• if the phone number shared by the user is found in previously created records, the user will be authorized and will be able to continue using the chatbot.

The clients section will be used to add a record that the bot will check to see if the bot user can be authorized or not. According to the different needs of the bot, records can be created in this section, both of customers and employees of the company, if the bot is corporate. It is these users added to clients with phone numbers who will be able to go through the authorization process and continue using the bot.

To add a new record, go to the clients section and click create client.

Enter the name and phone number for recording.

Next, we create the first, starting script of a bot with one button to share a phone number. When clicking on the button, the user will be prompted to share the phone number.

Next, we create several more scenarios in which we limit access only to customers.

Now let's try to log in to the chatbot. We enter the bot and press the button to share the phone number. The bot checks if the phone number shared by the bot user matches at least one entry in the clients section. If not, the user will be redirected to the specified script if the authorization fails. In the event that an entry in the clients section is found, the user's chat will be associated with the client's entry and he will be authorized and will have access to the bot's internal scripts.
